
Thermal uniformity is
a critical issue in processing furnaces. SST International’s method
of resistive graphite heating provides both challenges and opportunities in
managing thermal gradients. In order to help optimize profiles and tooling
designs, SST utilizes a computerized infrared thermal imaging system. This
system allows us to analyze specific tooling and piece part combinations,
in the vacuum furnace, to determine temperature variations. We then use this
information to modify profiles and tools to achieve the levels of uniformity
required for your application.
